Nordal Gonzalez Valera, M.D., was born in Cuba where he studied medicine, completed his training in internal medicine, and practiced for almost 10 years as an internal medicine and critical care physician. He moved to the United States in 2013 where he settled with his family in Rochester, New York. Despite a decade of training and experience in Cuba, in order to practice in the United States he completed another Internal Medicine residency at San Juan City Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He now lives in Lithia, Florida with his wife and daughter. He is a member of American Medical Association and American College of Physicians. He enjoys running, biking, weight lifting, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
