Melissa M. Schweitzer, FNP-BC, is a highly skilled Family Nurse Practitioner with over two decades of experience caring for a diverse range of patients and their families in primary care and urgent care settings. Born and raised in Rockford, Illinois, Melissa earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Saint Anthony College of Nursing in 2002 and her Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2005. She is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She joined Cornerstone Medical Care in 2016. In addition to her patient care responsibilities, she also serves at the practice’s Clinical Quality Manager and oversees the organizations quality and utilization management programs.

Melissa is known for her compassionate approach to patient care and her ability to build strong relationships with her patients and their families. Her experience across various clinical settings allows her to provide comprehensive and personalized care that meets the unique needs of each individual.

Outside of her professional life, Melissa enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Joe, and their son, Bradley. She is also a dedicated dog owner with three beloved dogs. Melissa’s hobbies include boating, fishing, and cooking, which she finds excellent ways to relax and unwind.
