Julio Enriquez, MD is a highly respected physician with over 30 years of experience practicing medicine in the Tampa Bay area. As a founding member and the Medical Director of Cornerstone Medical Care, he plays a crucial role in guiding the practice and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. Born in Matanzas, Cuba, Dr. Enriquez emigrated to the United States as a child. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida in 1981, completed medical school at the Universidad Central del Este in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic in 1984 and completing his medical training and residency including serving as the Chief Resident at Bergen Pines County Hospital in New Jersey in 1988. He is board certified in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
After returning to Florida in 1988, Dr. Enriquez served as a physician and medical director at various clinics, establishing a reputation for excellence in patient care. In 2000, along with his partner Dr. Antonio Zumpano, he founded Cornerstone Medical Care where he continues contributing his expertise and leadership and serves as the company’s managing partner. Though he no longer sees patients directly, Dr. Enriquez remains integral to Cornerstone Medical Care, providing expert guidance and oversight as the practice’s Medical Director. His dedication to the medical field and community is evident in his commitment to excellence and service.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Enriquez leads an active lifestyle and enjoys a variety of interests, including fishing, golfing, international travel, and exploring different ethnic cuisines. He is also an advocate for local charities and supports various community initiatives. Dr. Enriquez values quality time spent at home in Riverview with his wife of over 40 years, their three adult children, and grandchildren.
