Born in New York City, Dr. Yvonne Santiago spent her childhood being raised in both New Jersey and Puerto Rico. After earning her undergraduate degree in Zoology from Rutgers University in her home state of New Jersey, she attended medical school at what is now known as Rutgers Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. She continued on to New Haven, Connecticut to complete her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital. After residency, she worked as a hospitalist in one of the first hospitalist programs in the country at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Dr. Santiago is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has been practicing in the Tampa Bay area for over 20 years. She is fluent in both English and Spanish. Her passion has always been outpatient primary care for adult patients, with an emphasis on seeing them through all stages of their life and also caring for different generations of the same family.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Santiago enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her interests also include traveling, playing golf, running, staying healthy, and reading.
